Traditional or Infrared: Which Heat Experience Do You Prefer?
Prefer a hotter room with heated sauna stones? A traditional sauna offers that experience, with the option to add water to the stones according to the heater’s instructions.
Prefer a lower air temperature? An infrared sauna uses panels that deliver radiant heat directly to your body. The two types feel different, so your heat preference matters when choosing.
Our Raleigh team can help you compare models, sizes, and electrical requirements. Call ahead to confirm which models you can view in the showroom.
| What to compare | Infrared Sauna | Traditional Sauna |
|---|---|---|

What are the health benefits of using a Finnleo sauna?
Finnleo saunas promote relaxation, improve circulation, aid muscle recovery, and support detoxification through sweating. Regular use may also enhance sleep quality and reduce stress.
Should I choose a traditional or infrared sauna?
Start with the heat experience you prefer. Traditional saunas use a heater and sauna stones to warm the room, with water added only as the heater instructions allow. Infrared saunas use panels to provide radiant heat and generally operate at lower air temperatures. Compare the seating, dimensions, and electrical requirements of the specific models you’re considering.
What size sauna should I buy?
Consider how many people will use it together and whether you prefer sitting upright or having room to stretch out. Compare bench layouts alongside the stated capacity. Measure your installation space, ceiling height, and access route, then check the model’s required clearances.
How much does a sauna cost, and what does the quote include?
Pricing depends on the model, size, heating system, and selected options. Request a quote for the sauna you’re considering and confirm delivery and assembly charges, service coverage, and any site preparation. Ask which costs are included and which need to be arranged separately.
Does a sauna need a 15-amp or 20-amp circuit?
Electrical requirements depend on the exact model and heater. Some models specify a 15-amp or 20-amp circuit; others require a different circuit rating or voltage. Check the manufacturer’s current installation instructions and have a qualified electrician confirm the required supply before installation. Arrange electrical work separately.
